Overview

The RF410 was a 100 mW spread spectrum radio/modem for point-to-point and point-to-multipoint data logger communications. It could serve as a field radio/modem connected to a data logger or as a base station radio/modem connected to a computer. The RF410 had an operating frequency range of 920 to 928 MHz, which was used in Australia/Israel.

Specifications

Operating Frequency 920 to 928 MHz
Type Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) Transceiver

Channel Capacity 65,000 Network Identifiers share 25 hop channels.
Frequency Hopping Patterns Six different selectable patterns
Frequency Control Direct FM
Receiver Sensitivity -110 dBm at 10-4 bit error rate (Campbell Scientific protocols will issue retries wherever a bit error occurs.)
Interface Rejection 70 dB at pager and cellular phone frequencies
Transmitter Power Output 100 mW (nominal)
Antenna Connector Reverse polarity SMA
FCC ID OUR9XTREAM
Operating Temperature Range -25° to +50°C
Power 9 to 16 Vdc
LEDs Power on, TX, RX, diagnostics
CS I/O Connector 9-pin “D” male for all needed communications lines. Newer loggers provide power to the radio on this connector. Older loggers may require optional power cable pn 14291.
RS-232 Connector 9-pin “D” female for TX, RX, CTS, ground RS-232 levels
Power Connector Barrel connector, center positive 12 V for use in base station configuration or with older data loggers. Newer loggers provide power to the radio on the CS I/O connector.

Additional Compatibility Information

Communications

The RF410 can transmit data to another RF410 radio or a CR210 datalogger. The RF410 may also be used in a network with RF411 radios and/or CR211(X) dataloggers if all of the RF411 radios and CR211(X) dataloggers are set to the transparent mode.Campbell Scientific does not recommend using the RF411 in networks containing FGR-115 or RF450 radios.

Enclosure Considerations

A desiccated, non-condensing environment is required. The 14162 Mounting Kit includes hardware for securing the RF410 to an enclosure backplate (see Ordering Info).
