Connecting a Third-Party GSM/GPRS/WCDMA/4G LTE Modem to a CR1000 for Data Transmission

Hello,

I want to send sensor data from my CR1000 to my web server. I have a third-party GSM/GPRS/WCDMA/4G LTE modem with a SIM card that has a static IP address. I have already configured the APN on the modem and verified that it responds correctly to a ping test. However, I still have a few doubts:

  1. The modem comes with a male-to-female RS232 cable, but I need a male-to-male RS232 cable to connect it to the CR1000. Is this correct?
  2. Should I connect the modem to the RS232 port or the CS I/O port on the CR1000?
  3. What configuration settings should I apply to the CR1000 to establish communication with the modem?

If setting up the third-party modem is too complex, I am open to purchasing a Campbell Scientific communication accessory to simplify the process.

Any guidance on this setup would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
