CELL215 and CR6, CS I/O - all 9 wires needed?

uta Apr 30, 2024 01:14 PM

Hi,

I need to connect a CELL215 modem to a CR6 logger. I like to use CS I/O but I have only a cable with 8 wires available (because the logger is build in an underwater housing with only 8pin connector and the modem in another enclousure).

I got it working by omitting the ME connection but I am not sure if this is a robust solution to choose. The 5V, SDE and RING were all needed.

Any advice how to overcome the shortage in the cable?

Probably I can use RS-232 on both devices instead?

Cheers,

Uta

You should be fine omitting the ME line. It is only used for ComME. Running the modem in SDC mode is default and recommended.
